I have a friend who loves to singa.
Over the years, people have told him that he can’t carry a tune. That he’s tone deaf.
The first time I heard him sing it was music to my ears. He was praising God. He began with a whistle, then broke into a quiet melody. He forgot himself and got louder. When he realized I was listening he stopped…
He made some comments laughing at himself that he knows he can’t carry a tune. He wasn’t going to sing in front of me any longer.
I didn’t want him to stop. His singing was music to my ears. I told him so.
To this day I still love to hear him sing.
My friend sings a different tune than me. We view life from different angles. I love when we allow our differences to compliment each other. It hurts deeply when we allow our differences to place a wedge between us.
When we sin we place a wedge in our relationship with God.
It hurts God and our relationship with Him when we sin.
Guess what–God has feelings. He hurts when we sin. He doesn’t want our relationship to have a wedge.
The beginning of this cartoon is significant. The baby owls are born and one is very different. His outlandish difference causes his Papa to speak negative names over him and his Mama to faint. The are horrified that he is so different.
The Papa says: “Don’t worry Mama, we will teach him to sing like we want him to.”
That statement has a LOT of meaning. It could possibly be understood that they will raise him with Godly wisdom and understanding–or allow man’s fleshly ignorance and regimented conformity to stop him from experiencing a personal relationship with God.
We can see where the latter has gotten our world. There’s not many people who believe in God let alone know what it is to experience a personal relationship with God.
I’m going to stop here for now and go to bed… more to come tomorrow.
